Millbury – The Worcester County Reserve Deputy Sheriff’s Association held its Sheriff’s Senior Summer Celebration & Education Symposium at Care One at Millbury on June 14th to a packed house.  The free event included presentations on “Hearing Loss and Dementia” by Dr. Keith Darrow, “Aging Lungs & Diseases” by Dr. Payam Aghassi as well as a “Fighting Fraud” talk given by Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis.

In addition to the educational speakers, the event also featured public safety and wellness tips, Bingo, raffles and a BBQ lunch.  “Our free educational symposia provide important public safety and wellness tips for our senior community.  We are thrilled to have such a wonderful turnout for our Summer Celebration here at Care One and want to thank our great host as well as all of our distinguished speakers who helped make this tremendous event possible.”  said Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis.

“I want to thank the Sheriff as well as all of today’s excellent speakers for providing such important information.  All of today’s topics were informative to help keep seniors safe and well in their homes.  This was such a wonderful event, I am looking forward to the next one.” said Auburn Senior Irene Collins.
