Posting Bail

Bail is a cash payment that is made at the jail to ensure that an arrested person will appear in court when ordered to do so.

At the end of a trial, if the defendant appeared at all required court hearings and trials, the cash bail will be returned to the defendant, relative, or friend who posted the bail.

Payment

Bail must be posted in cash only. In addition to the dollar amount of bail, individuals who are posting bail must pay the bail administrative fee of $40.00 in cash only.
