Week 8 has closed out for the Worcester County Sheriff's Office B.R.T.A. #62 recruits!

This week, the recruits learned about firearms safety, weapons retention, low-light shooting, and civilian response to an active shooter. They learned a lot in the classroom from instructor Lt. Carlos Cataquet and then applied what they learned on the range. The recruits kept a positive attitude and continued team building as they worked at the range in varying weather conditions.

Eight weeks down, five more weeks to go!

Earlier this month, the Worcester County Sheriff's Office softball team participated in the second annual “Badge Brawl” softball tournament. In addition to the Sheriff's Office, 5 local police departments entered teams in the tournament. 🥎🥎🥎

According to the Shrewsbury, MA Police Department, the event host, just shy of $3,000 was raised for this year's charity, the Manny Familia 267 Foundation.
