WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester County Sheriff’s Department is encouraging seniors to protect their COVID-19 vaccination cards and keep them handy.

Sheriff Lew Evangelidis and the Central Mass Agency on Aging visited the Worcester Senior Center Vaccination Site on Friday to deliver 500 Files of Life — individual carriers for vaccination cards.

They hold a person’s important medical information for first responders in the event of an emergency call.

The Sheriff said they’ll help seniors keep their covid vaccination cards safe and secure.

“They say if you get that covid vaccination card, that’s gold, and you need a safe secure place to keep that and were recommending right in the File of Life. This is a critical piece of your safety when you’re home in case something goes wrong,”Sheriff Evangelidis said.

Over the next few weeks, they’ll be delivering the files to every major vaccination site in Worcester County.
