SUTTON — Worcester County Sheriff Lewis G. Evangelidis recently presented the drug-prevention program Face2Face to seventh- and eighth-graders at Sutton Middle School.

He discussed the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse as part of the Sheriff’s Substance Abuse Prevention and Education Initiative for Worcester County Schools. The Face2Face System uses cutting-edge technology and special computer software to simulate the shocking effects substance abuse can have on a person’s appearance over time. Mr. Evangelidis also was a “very special mystery reader” at Sutton Elementary School.

He spent the morning with Mrs. Whittier’s and Mrs. King’s second-grade class as well as Mrs. Junilla’s fifth-grade class to discuss his role in the community as Worcester County sheriff and to read “Diamond Jim Dandy and the Sheriff.” Students received special junior sheriff badges.
