WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing clients of the Worcester Community Justice Support Center.
They either successfully completed an educational, rehabilitative, or vocational program or moved on to a subsequent phase of their respective program. The Justice Support Center is a collaboration between the sheriff’s office and the Office of Community Corrections. Its goal is to keep communities safe by providing services and support to individuals who either have past or current involvement in the criminal justice system.
“These days are very very special,” Sheriff Lew Evangelidis said. “So it’s really, the end of the day, a lot of people have been in these programs have been through a lot. Their families have been through a lot, and I know a lot of people feel alone. This is what I hope more than anything today represents is you’re not alone.”
“What this center provides to those people, it’s absolutely life changing,” said CJ Lavallee, one of the people recognized at the program. “I can’ thank you all enough. Truly, from the bottom of my heart. It’s not just a dream, it’s a dream come true.
Members are also provided with services like cognitive behavioral therapy treatment to address decision-making and substance use disorder, re-entry assistance and an individualized plan to meet each participant’s unique needs.
