Blackstone – Joseph D’Ambra from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Community Outreach Team recently dropped off special care packages to Blackstone Senior Center Director Laurie Keefe. The special care packages contain personal protection supplies such as hand sanitizer and masks to help seniors stay safe when they have to venture out in public during COVID-19.

In addition to the Blackstone Senior Center, the Sheriff’s Department distributed these special kits to all sixty senior centers throughout Worcester County. The program is part of Sheriff Evangelidis’ mission to give back to local communities.  “Our seniors will be so appreciative to receive these special kits from the Sheriff. The Sheriff’s Department is always there for us and especially during this time, we are very grateful for their support and kindness,” said Blackstone Senior Center Director Laurie Keefe.  “The main thing we want to convey with these personal protection kits is that we have not forgotten about our senior population during this challenging time,” Evangelidis continued. “Our Department has continued to give back to the community during this pandemic.

We are all in this together and we hope everyone stays safe and well,” said Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis.
