The Milford Town Crier
Inmates from the Worcester County Jail and House of Correction recently provided free landscaping services to the Milford Senior Center for a day under Sheriff Lewis Evangelidis’ Inmate Community Service Program. A team of inmates – all non-violent, non-sex offender individuals approaching the end of their sentences – helped spread bark mulch under the direction of Maintenance Supervisor Charlie Skaff.
“It’s a good program. It saves the town money,” Evangelidis said.
“We’ve had them here before in the town,” Skaff said, referencing recent work at the Board of Health’s transfer station on Cedar Street (Route 85).
“Thank you very much. It looks nice,” a woman leaving the Senior Center told the workers.
