Position: Corrections Officer

 Corrections Officers are required to have a valid driver’s license. An RMV background check will be completed prior to offer of employment
 Individuals who have been convicted of or pled guilty to a felony will be ineligible for employment as a Corrections Officer
 WCSO reserves the right to perform a thorough background investigation of all applications. Background investigations may include, but is not limited to: interview of references, former employers, relatives, etc.
 Psychological examination will be reserved for paper writing online employees who have completed initial rounds of screening. The test will be administered by a licensed psychologist who will be determined by WCSO. WCSO will be responsible for the cost of administering the examination.
 The length of recruit academies may be increased up to 14 weeks at the discretion of the Sheriff and the Assistant Deputy Superintendent of Training.
 Candidates participating in the WCSO Corrections Academy or employed on a probationary status will be compensated as determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement.
