Sheriff Evangelidis Talks About Reforms To The Sheriff’s Office

Newly elected Sheriff Lew Evangelidis spoke at the March 24th, Dudley Republican Town Committee about the changes he has made at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff Evangelidis spoke about the various reforms and new ideas being implemented to decrease costs, increase public safety, decrease patronage, and improve the hiring process. Lew was interrupted numerous times by applause and shouts of support for the work he has done and will continue to do. The meeting was open to the public.

Dudley Republican Town Chairman Douglas M. Bushman: “We had a large group come out to thank Sheriff Lew Evangelidis for the work he has done at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department. He answered all of our questions and he spoke about public safety being job number one. It was a very informational discussion and presentation. On behalf of those who attended and for the residents of Dudley I want to thank him for coming to talk about the changes and reforms he has put into place in less than 100 days in office. The people of Dudley supported Lew in last year’s election by a wide-margin. Democrats, Republicans, and Unenrolled voters supported Lew. Furthermore, it is clear by the showing at last Thursday’s presentation that this across the board support continues and is growing.”
